On January 10, General Secretary Xi Jinping wrote a letter to the Ninth National Members' Congress of the Chinese Law Society, affirming the positive contributions made by law associations at all levels since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to unite and lead the vast number of legal workers to promote the comprehensive rule of law, and put forward new requirements for doing a good job in the work of the Law Society in the new era.

The rule of law work is a very political work, and it is also a very professional political work. To promote the comprehensive rule of law, we must strive to build a socialist legal team that is loyal to the Party, the country, the people, and the law.

General Secretary Xi Jinping has always been concerned about the cultivation of legal talents.

On the eve of May Fourth Youth Day in 2017, the General Secretary came to China University of Political Science and Law for inspection. During a discussion between teachers and students of the same school, legal experts in the capital, representatives of law workers, and responsible persons of colleges and universities, the General Secretary pointed out: "Building a country ruled by law, a government ruled by law, and a society ruled by law, and realizing scientific legislation, strict law enforcement, fair justice, and law-abiding by all people are inseparable from a high-quality legal work team. On May 28, 2020, the Third Session of the 13th National People's Congress voted to pass the Civil Code. This is the first law named after the "Code" since the founding of New China. Its promulgation and implementation is an important symbol of the socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics reaching a new height and is of great milestone significance. Previously, General Secretary Xi Jinping presided over the meetings of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee three times, listened to and agreed in principle to the Party Group of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on the compilation of the Civil Code, and made important instructions on the compilation of the Civil Code.

As one of the units participating in the compilation of the Civil Code, the Chinese Law Society organized and led the national civil law academic community and civil legal practice community to actively promote the transformation and application of theoretical and practical achievements in the compilation of the Civil Code, and give full play to the role of a think tank in national legislation.
