The reporter learned from the National Procurator General Conference today (January 13) that from January to November 2024 (the same below), the national procuratorate approved the arrest of 669,000 suspects of various types and prosecutions of 1.467 million.

· Adhere to strict deterrence and punish serious crimes according to law. Procuratorates across the country have severely punished serious violent crimes such as intentional homicide, robbery, and kidnapping in accordance with the law, prosecuted 55,000 people, effectively enhancing the people's sense of security.

·Punish major vicious crimes in accordance with the law, strictly and quickly, and the Supreme People's Procuratorate guides local procuratorates to severely punish extreme cases such as driving and colliding with pedestrians in Zhuhai in accordance with the law, so as to deter crimes and calm people's hearts.

·In cooperation with the public security organs to continue to carry out the crackdown on the backlog of murder cases, the Supreme People's Procuratorate approved the prosecution of 193 murder cases that have been committed for more than 20 years in accordance with the law.

·The fight against organized crime and evil was carried out on a regular basis, and the fight was early and small, and the fight was accurate and practical. 9,867 people were prosecuted for crimes involving organized crime and evil.

·Actively participate in the special rectification of production safety risks, list and supervise major production safety accident cases, and prosecuted 4,705 people for crimes such as major responsible accidents and dangerous operations.

·Punish crimes that the people have strongly reflected in accordance with the law, prosecuted 505,000 people for crimes such as "pornography, gambling, drugs, and "theft, robbery and fraud", and prosecuted 1,136 people for crimes of trafficking in women and children.

This year, we will increase the handling of public interest litigation in the Internet field.

The national procuratorates actively promote the management of the Internet in accordance with the law. From January to November 2024, a total of 242,000 crimes committed using the Internet were prosecuted. Among them, cross-border telecommunications network fraud crimes were cracked down in accordance with the law, and 67,000 telecommunications network fraud crimes were prosecuted, an increase of 58.5% year-on-year. Actively participate in the special operation to combat and control fraud crimes involving northern Myanmar. The Supreme People's Procuratorate guides local procuratorates to file public prosecutions against 39 people in the Mingjia Crime Group in northern Myanmar in accordance with the law.

This year, the procuratorate will continue to participate in the special "cleaning the Internet" campaign, punish the use of the Internet to commit crimes such as infringement of citizens' personal information and online violence in accordance with the law, and increase the intensity of procuratorial public interest litigation handling cases in response to chaos in the Internet field such as infringement of citizens' personal information, false propaganda, and consumer fraud.
