CCTV News: According to the Ministry of Commerce website, the Ministry of Commerce issued an announcement No. 50 of 2025, announcing an anti-discrimination investigation into the United States' relevant measures in the field of integrated circuits in China.
According to Articles 7 and 36 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, if any country or region takes discriminatory prohibitions, restrictions or other similar measures against the People's Republic of China in terms of trade, the People's Republic of China may take corresponding measures against the country or region according to actual conditions. The Ministry of Commerce may initiate relevant investigations on its own or in conjunction with other relevant departments of the State Council.
The Ministry of Commerce obtained preliminary evidence and information showing that the relevant measures of the United States in the field of integrated circuits in China (hereinafter referred to as the measures under investigation) comply with the situation of "discriminatory prohibitions, restrictions or other similar measures against the People's Republic of China in terms of trade" stipulated in Article 7 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China.
According to Articles 36 and 37 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce has decided to launch an anti-discrimination investigation into the United States' investigation measures starting from September 13, 2025.
