On April 15, the State Immigration Administration held a press conference to release the main data on immigration management in the first quarter of 2025. The national immigration management agencies have inspected a total of 163 million inbound and outbound personnel, an increase of 15.3% year-on-year. Among them: 80.272 million mainland residents, 65.724 million Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents, and 17.437 million foreigners, up 15.4%, 11.2% and 33.4% year-on-year respectively.

8.495 million inbound and outbound transportation vehicles were inspected, an increase of 15.5% year-on-year. Among them: 239,000 aircraft, 25,000 trains, 106,000 ships, and 8.124,000 motor vehicles, up 23.3%, 5.7%, 4.2%, and 15.5% year-on-year respectively.

In the first quarter, the national immigration management agencies coordinated the promotion:

·Severely crack down on crimes that obstruct national (border) management, carry out in-depth winter public security crackdowns and rectification actions, continue to deepen the governance of "three non-" foreigners, investigate and handle 2,851 crimes that obstruct national (border) management, arrest 8,402 criminal suspects, 127 criminal gangs were destroyed, 16 transfer dens were destroyed, and 388 vehicles (ships) of transportation involved were seized.

·Severely crack down on illegal and criminal activities involving guns, explosives, drug trafficking and smuggling in the border areas, seized 128 drug cases, including 19 cases of more than 10,000 grams, and seized 888.4 kilograms of various drugs; seized 201 guns of various types and 5,463 bullets; the case value of smuggled items was 70.865 million yuan.

In the first quarter, the national immigration management agencies continued to promote institutional opening-up in the field of immigration management and made every effort to promote high-level opening-up and high-quality development.

·Implement the visa-free policy of traveling to Xishuangbanna, Yunnan by ASEAN countries;

·Formal implementation of the "one trip per week" for residents of Zhuhai to travel to Macau, and the "one visa and multiple trip" policy for residents of household registration and residence permit holders of household registration and residence permit holders of Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone to travel to Macau;

·For the purpose of losing, damaged or forgetting to bring a pass, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents who need to travel between mainland (mainland) cities by plane or train, to provide "double certificate association" verification services for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents who have needs;

·Deeply promote the "nation-wide" and "full online processing" of entry and exit documents, and further expand the coverage of entry and exit government services. A total of 5.153 million ordinary passports were issued, 24.854 million visas for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan for residents (mainland), 569,000 passes for residents from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan for residents from the mainland (mainland), and 361,000 visa documents for foreigners were issued.

·The government service platform of the Immigration Bureau provides 45.81 million government services such as inquiries to Chinese and foreign personnel, and 16.8 million identity verification services are provided for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents, overseas Chinese and foreigners for free;

·The 12367 service hotline of the National Immigration Management Agency accepts 1.68 million calls for consultations, opinions and suggestions from Chinese and foreign personnel, with an average satisfaction rate of 99.5%.
