On the evening of May 9 local time, President Xi Jinping met with Venezuelan President Maduro during his celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War in Moscow.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Venezuela are good partners for mutual trust and common development, and the two sides have forged a hard-core friendship amid international changes. Since we jointly announced the establishment of the China-Vietnam all-weather strategic partnership in 2023, the two sides have had a warm exchange in all fields and levels, the bilateral trade volume has continued to grow, and new progress has been made in investment cooperation and cultural exchanges, and the friendship between the China-Vietnam has become more deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. China has always viewed and developed its relations with Venezuela from a strategic height and a long-term perspective. It will continue to firmly support the protection of national sovereignty, national dignity and social stability with Venezuela. It is willing to strengthen exchanges of experience in governing the country with Venezuela, continue to deepen practical cooperation in various fields, and promote China-Venezuela relations to a new level and better benefit the people of both countries. China is willing to work with Venezuela and other Latin American countries to firmly safeguard the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order based on international law, and promote the steady and long-term construction of a community with a shared future between China and Latin America.

Maduro said that China is a great friend of Venezuela and thanked China for its selfless support and help for Venezuela safeguarding national sovereignty and achieving economic and social development. The Venezuelan side looks forward to strengthening all-weather strategic partnership with China, strengthening cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, agriculture, science and technology, and education, achieving more tangible results and better benefiting the people of both countries. The concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind proposed by President Xi Jinping has opened up bright prospects for world peaceful development. The Venezuelan side is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China, adhere to multilateralism, defend international fairness and justice, and safeguard the common interests of the international community.
