The "Le Linquan - Chinese and Foreign Garden Culture Exhibition" held in the exhibition hall of the Meridian Gate of the Palace Museum has gathered more than 200 Chinese and foreign cultural relics and artworks. This exhibition is co-organized by the Palace Museum and the Chicago Museum of Art. Through six units: "Elegant Collection", "Collection", "Visiting Mountains", "Retreat", "Flowers Viewing" and "Cheerful Sound", it integrates garden landscapes with literature, drama, historical allusions, etc., based on Chinese classical gardens, looking at global garden culture, and trying to create a real garden experience for the audience. Walking into the exhibition hall of Xiyanzi Tower, it is like entering the elegant gathering of ancient people Qushui Liushang. The exhibition hall cleverly restores the scene of "Qushui Liushang", and the audience moves through the famous elegant gatherings in history. The most famous one is the Lanting Gala where Wang Xizhi and Xie An and more than 40 people went to each other more than 1,600 years ago.
The long scroll "Lanting Xiuhua" painted by the Ming Dynasty painter You Qiu vividly presents a grand event in the spring scenery of the mountains and forests. The mountains and rocks are dotted with dry ink, and the characters are painted with white drawing techniques. The brushwork is concise and the artistic conception is distant. As the setting winds forward, it is the "Si Jing Collection of Xiyuan" by the Qing Dynasty painter Shi Tao. Many famous Northern Song Dynasty masters such as Su Shi, Mi Fu, Huang Tingjian, and Wang Shi can find their figures in this painting.
The middle hall of the Meridian Gate is based on the theme of "mountain". Most of the classical Chinese gardens have "mountains", rockery, lakes and stones, and a cave in the sky, showing people's eternal pursuit of mountains and rivers even though they live in the city. Dominating the corner of the exhibition hall, Wu Bin's "Square Pot Picture Scroll" by the Ming Dynasty depicts a strange-looking square pot fairy mountain with misty clouds and jade pagodas appearing in it. There are immortals looking at the distance from the railings. The waves at the foot of the mountain are swaying on the shore and the waves are surging, with majestic momentum, which is amazing.
Walking in the exhibition hall of the West Yan Wing Building, what caught your eye were watching flowers, painting flowers, and chanting flowers. In Ma Lin's "Classified Ice Silk Picture Scroll" by Ma Lin of the Southern Song Dynasty, three green-caly plum branches appear obliquely from the right side, with fine branches and strong trunks, and dense and colorful flowers, which reminds people of Wang Mian's famous quote - don't praise the good color, just leave the clear air to fill the universe. The "Red Lotus Picture Scroll" by Chen Hongshou in the Ming Dynasty and the "Ink Lotus Picture Scroll" by Shi Tao in the Qing Dynasty show the noble temperament of the lotus "out of the mud without being stained, and washing in the clear water without being charming". Monet's famous works "Water Lily" and "Water Lily Pool" are also heavy works that many tourists come to see. The rippling lake water, floating lotus flowers, reflected sky light and cloud shadows... are full of rich oriental charm.

This exhibition is also unique ingenious in the exhibition method, using architectural samples, restoration models and image-reproducing historical space to vividly explain the construction wisdom of the Forbidden City garden.
One of the famous landscapes of the Palace Museum, Qianlong Garden is a main line throughout the three exhibition halls of the exhibition. The reporter learned that the repaired Qianlong Garden will be officially opened to the public in September this year. In the exhibition, the carefully replicated Qianlong Garden hot samples are displayed. The special feature of the hot samples is that they not only reflect the appearance of the building, but also express the interior layout of the building in detail. The era when Emperor Qianlong built this garden was at the peak of the development of inner eaves decoration technology. In the exhibition hall, the Juanqinzhai small stage in Qianlong Garden was reconstructed with modern design techniques, and a stage was created using 3D printing technology, and then the mirror screen was used to reproduce the indoor images of Juanqinzhai, combining virtual and real, creating a space experience for the audience to be in it.
