CCTV.com News: According to the official account of "China Manned Space", on September 12, 2025, my country successfully organized and implemented the second tethering ignition test of the Long March 10 series of launch vehicles at the Wenchang Space Launch Site, and completed all scheduled tethering ignition tests as planned.
At 15:00 pm, with the ignition command issued by the test command center, seven engines, the first sub-stage test product of the rocket, were ignited at the same time, and several test processes were completed according to the predetermined procedures. The total test time was 320 seconds. The focus was on assessing the low-working and secondary ignition starting work capabilities of the seven parallel engines of the first sub-stage rocket, and the complete test data was obtained, and the test was a complete success. Up to now, the two planned tethering ignition tests have been completed, which comprehensively tested the performance of the first-stage seven-motor power system and the correctness and reliability of the recovery section work program design, marking a phased breakthrough in the development of the first sample of the Long March 10 series launch vehicle.
The Long March 10 series carrier rocket tethered ignition test is carried out step by step based on the idea of gradual and gradual verification, focusing on the performance verification, recycling and reuse verification of the power system performance verification of the first-stage seven-machine parallel engine power system. The purpose is to obtain the real load environment characteristics of the first-stage seven-machine parallel working state and verify the recovery section working procedures. It is an important means to release the risk of the first flight.
At present, the development of manned lunar exploration projects in my country is progressing smoothly. Since mid-June this year, relevant test work has been implemented in multiple lines and intensively. Mengzhou manned spacecraft, Lunyue lander, Long March 10 series launch vehicle, etc. have made gratifying progress one after another. The construction of relevant supporting facilities and equipment in Wenchang Aerospace Launch Station is progressing steadily. In the future, the Long March 10 series of launch vehicles will carry out flight test verification work one after another.
