The reporter learned from the Ministry of Commerce that during the Qingming Festival holiday, the national consumer market was prosperous and active, the policy of ex-new consumer goods continued to be effective, and the market supply was sufficient and the price was stable.

The old trade-in continues to show results. During the holiday period, the Ministry of Commerce focused on monitoring retail enterprises' sales of home appliances, communication equipment and automobiles increased by 21.6%, 15.1% and 8.6% respectively. From the beginning of this year to April 6, 683,000 subsidies for automobile scrapping and renewal subsidies were applied for, and 1.369 million applications for automobile replacement and renewal; consumers purchased 35.155 million units of 12 major household appliances, driving sales of 122.83 billion yuan; consumers applied for 64.866 million subsidies for purchase of three digital products in mobile phones, tablets, and smart watches (bracelets).

The daily necessities are sufficient and the prices are stable. According to business big data monitoring, during the holidays, the 200 large agricultural and sideline products wholesale markets nationwide had sufficient inventory of grain, oil, meat, poultry and eggs; the prices of grain, oil, pork, beef, mutton, vegetables and eggs were basically the same as before the holiday. During the Qingming Festival holiday, the passenger flow of 50 pedestrian streets and business districts monitored by the Ministry of Commerce increased by 6.9% year-on-year.
