‌In Antarctica, where there is no infrastructure such as ground fiber, all communications rely on satellite networks. Satellites are like routers at home, and satellite networks are like Wi-Fi. The larger the bandwidth of the satellite network, the faster the network speed.

Such internet speed can only support Zhongshan Station scientific expedition team members to browse text websites. Contacting domestic colleagues is generally in the form of posting text messages. Recently, Zhongshan Station used my country's independent satellites for the first time to realize high-speed network communication. The network speed reaches nearly 100 megabytes, which is equivalent to speeding up from the previous 2G network speed to 4G.
