In the first round of Group B of the round-robin tournament, the Chinese group Han Yu/Wang Zhiyu defeated the Kazakhstan group Amina Seitzinova/Azizbek Nadirbayev 11-5, winning the Chinese delegation a good start to this Asian Winter Games.

As the first Chinese athletes to debut at this Asian Winter Games, Han Yu and Wang Zhiyu have both participated in the Beijing Winter Olympics and have considerable experience in major competitions. After the game began, the Chinese players quickly established an advantage and took a big lead with a 10:1 score in the first 5 games. After Kazakhstan recovered 4 points in the 6th inning, Han Yu and Wang Zhiyu successfully maintained their advantage and finally won the first game with 11:5.

The curling mixed double event is a new sub-event in this Asian Winter Games, with a total of 12 teams participating in the competition for the event. The Chinese team is in Group B with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, South Korea and Qatar. On February 5, the Chinese team will face Kyrgyzstan and Philippines.
