The reporter learned from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station of the Zhuhai Border Inspection Station that as of April 10, the number of Hong Kong-Macao single-licensed vehicles entering and leaving the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has exceeded 1 million, an increase of 29.7% year-on-year.
Since this year, the number of single-licensed vehicles in Hong Kong and Macao has increased significantly, with the average daily customs clearance exceeding 10,000 vehicles, and the average daily daily volume has reached 14,000 vehicles on weekends and holidays. Among them, during the Qingming Festival holiday that just passed, on April 6, the customs clearance of Hong Kong and Macao single-licensed vehicles reached 19,800, setting a single-day record since the implementation of the policy. The owner of the "Ao Car North" who was interviewed said that he had been traveling more than ten times this year. Friends who have cars around him have applied for "Ao Car North". It is cheaper to buy things here and there are many choices for food.
In the interview, many Hong Kong and Macao residents said that driving "going north" has now integrated into daily life. At the same time, Zhuhai hotels also welcomed a large number of tourists from Hong Kong and Macao. A hotel manager in Zhuhai also said that every weekend and holiday, the hotel occupancy rate can reach about 80%, of which more than half of them are Hong Kong and Macao customers. In the first quarter of this year, hotel turnover increased significantly compared with the same period last year.
