CCTV News: According to the Supreme Court, on April 9, 2025, the Xiangyang Intermediate People's Court of Hubei Province held a public trial in the first instance of Li Yong, former deputy secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

Xiangyang Municipal People's Procuratorate filed a lawsuit: From 1996 to 2023, the defendant Li Yong used his position as director of the Comprehensive Technology Department of the Exploration Department of China National Offshore Oil Corporation and the Director of the Drilling and Oil Testing Department, director of the Drilling and Completion Office of China National Offshore Oil Co., Ltd., secretary of the Party Committee, general manager and deputy general manager of the Tianjin Branch of China National Offshore Oilfield Services Co., Ltd., secretary of the Party Committee, CEO, president and executive vice president of China National Offshore Oilfield Services Co., Ltd., deputy secretary of the Party Group and general manager of China National Offshore Oil Group Co., Ltd., and other positions to provide assistance to relevant enterprises and individuals in business agency, product sales, job adjustments, etc., and illegally accept property directly or through others, totaling more than RMB 67.94 million. The procuratorate requested that Li Yong be held criminally responsible for accepting bribes.

During the trial, the procuratorate presented relevant evidence, the defendant Li Yong and his defense lawyer conducted cross-examination, and the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court. Li Yong made a final statement and expressed his guilt in court.

At the end of the trial, the court announced an adjournment and the verdict was announced at a later date.

More than 20 people from NPC deputies, CPPCC members, journalists and people from all walks of life attended the trial.
