From April 25 to 26, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission held a live meeting for the Border and Enhancement of the People in Tengchong, Yunnan. The State Ethnic Affairs Commission Director Pan Yue attended the meeting and delivered a speech, and the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee Secretary Wang Ning attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Pan Yue pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has placed strengthening border governance in a more prominent position, made a series of important statements and major decisions and deployments, and promoted the action of developing borders and enriching the people in the new era to achieve brilliant achievements. The total economic output in the border areas has reached a new level, the industrial structure has been optimized and upgraded, the level of development and opening up along the border has steadily improved, the urban and rural appearance has been completely renewed, the living standards of people of all ethnic groups have been significantly improved, and the sense of community for the Chinese nation has been continuously forged, presenting a good situation of "the Party's glory shines on the frontier, and the people in the frontier are looking forward to the Party."

Pan Yue emphasized that we must thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on strengthening and improving ethnic work and the spirit of his important discourse on border governance, and take the promotion of the construction of the Chinese nation as the clear main line. We must adhere to the principle of uniting our hearts to build the border, the industry to develop the border, the culture to nourish the border, the people’s livelihood to benefit the border, the mutual embedding and realization, the openness and vitality, solid defense and strengthening the border, and coordinate the construction of the border, and promote the high-quality development of the action of developing the border and enriching the people in the new era. We must improve the long-term mechanism, evaluation mechanism, and implementation mechanism, and do a solid and meticulous job in building a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. Accelerate the adjustment of industrial structure in border areas, deepen the "private enterprises entering the border" action, and give the reform and development of border areas "three meanings". Strengthen research and interpretation of border governance, comprehensively promote and popularize the national common language and writing, and tell the story of the Chinese nation well. Focus on people's livelihood and strengthen policy support and support the construction of central towns and villages on the border. Accelerate the construction of mutually embedded communities, deepen the "three plans" to promote exchanges and integration among all ethnic groups and the creation of ethnic unity and progress. Guide and support border areas to build high-level open platforms, strengthen cross-border exchanges and cooperation, and help build a neighboring community with a shared future. Strengthen top-level design and overall coordination to gather strong synergy to deepen the action of developing borders and enriching the people in the new era.

Wang Ning said that Yunnan thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and important instructions during his inspection of Yunnan, focused on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, closely followed the "one leap", "three positionings" and "creating a new development situation", deeply promoted the construction of my country’s national unity and progress demonstration zones, vigorously implemented the action of developing border areas, accelerated the pace of development of border areas, promoted the construction of border industrial parks, and innovatively built border happy villages, leading people of all ethnic groups to listen to the Party, be grateful to the Party, and follow the Party, forming a good situation of border people being rich, borders being beautiful, borders being stable, and border defense being solid. We must deepen the action to develop borders and enrich the people in the new era, create an upgraded version of border happy villages, promote the coordinated development of border villages, towns, cities, ports and parks, improve the industrial and population aggregation capacity of border areas, build a beautiful home, maintain ethnic unity, and protect the sacred land.
