Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, May 13. Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Vieira and Presidential Chief Special Adviser Amorin in Beijing on the 12th.

The two sides communicated in-depth on implementing the results of President Xi Jinping's visit to Pakistan last year, and prepared for President Lula's visit to China, especially the important meetings to be held by the two heads of state. They agreed that in accordance with the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, they would promote the construction of a community of shared future for China and Pakistan, adhere to multilateralism, safeguard recognized international rules, jointly defend the legitimate rights and interests of the global south, and make China-Pakistan contributions to promoting world peace and stability.

The two sides exchanged views on the Ukrainian crisis and other issues, expressing their support for direct dialogue and negotiation between Russia and Ukraine, and will continue to play the role of the "Friends of Peace" group to gather more international consensus to promote political resolution of the crisis.
