CCTV News: According to the website of the National Bureau of Statistics, in December, raw coal, crude oil, natural gas and electricity production in industries above designated size (hereinafter referred to as industry above designated size) grew steadily.

1. Raw coal, crude oil and natural gas production and related situations

The growth rate of raw coal production is accelerating. In December, the production of industrial raw coal above the designated size was 440 million tons, an increase of 4.2% year-on-year, a growth rate of 2.4 percentage points faster than in November; the average daily output was 14.156 million tons. Imported coal was 52.35 million tons, an increase of 10.9% year-on-year.

In 2024, the output of industrial raw coal above the designated size was 4.76 billion tons, an increase of 1.3% year-on-year. Imported 540 million tons of coal, an increase of 14.4% year-on-year.

The growth rate of crude oil production is accelerating. In December, the production of industrial crude oil above designated size was 17.9 million tons, an increase of 1.4% year-on-year, a growth rate of 1.2 percentage points faster than in November; the average daily output was 577,000 tons. Imported crude oil was 47.84 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.1%.

In 2024, the above-scale industrial crude oil production was 212.82 million tons, an increase of 1.8% year-on-year. Imported crude oil was 553.42 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%.

Crude oil processing remains stable. In December, the above-scale industrial crude oil processing volume was 59.35 million tons, an increase of 0.6% year-on-year, a growth rate of 0.4 percentage points faster than in November; the average daily processing was 1.915 million tons. In 2024, the above-scale industrial crude oil processing volume was 708.43 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.6%.

Natural gas production has grown steadily. In December, the production of industrial natural gas above designated size was 21.8 billion cubic meters, an increase of 3.6% year-on-year, a growth rate of 0.5 percentage points faster than in November; the average daily output was 700 million cubic meters. Imported natural gas was 11.56 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.9%.

In 2024, the production of industrial natural gas above designated size was 246.4 billion cubic meters, an increase of 6.2% year-on-year. Imported natural gas was 131.69 million tons, an increase of 9.9% year-on-year.

2. Electricity production situation

Industrial power production above the designated size has grown steadily. In December, the above-scale industrial power generation was 846.2 billion kWh, an increase of 0.6% year-on-year; the above-scale industrial power generation was 27.3 billion kWh. In 2024, the above-scale industrial power generation was 9418.1 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 4.6% year-on-year.

By variety, in December, the growth rate of industrial nuclear power and solar power generation above designated size accelerated, thermal power turned from increase to decrease, and hydropower and wind power turned from decrease to increase. Among them, industrial thermal power above the designated size decreased by 2.6% year-on-year, up 1.4% in November; industrial hydropower above the designated size increased by 5.5%, down 1.9% in November; industrial nuclear power above the designated size increased by 11.4%, an increase of 8.3 percentage points compared with November; industrial wind power above the designated size increased by 6.6%, down 3.3% in November; industrial solar power above the designated size increased by 28.5%, an increase of 18.2 percentage points compared with November.
