The reporter learned from the Guangzhou Railway Group on April 29 that as of April 28, the cross-border passenger flow of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Railway has exceeded 10 million passengers this year, breaking the record of the fastest breakthrough of 10 million passengers since the opening of this line, 16 days earlier than in 2024. Among them, the peak of passenger volume in a single day reached 136,000.
It is understood that among the cross-border passenger flows of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, the proportion of Hong Kong's passenger sources and mainland passenger sources is about 4:6. The cities where the passenger flows mainly include Hong Kong's cross-border passenger flows from Shenzhen and Guangzhou, accounting for 36.3% and 34.1% respectively. In addition, the proportion of passenger flow between Hong Kong and surrounding cities such as Dongguan, Huizhou, and Shanwei is also gradually increasing, accounting for nearly 10%. The number of free travelers on weekends increased by as much as 16.7% year-on-year. This high-speed rail golden channel connecting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is helping the accelerated integration and development of the "one-hour living circle" in the Greater Bay Area.
