CCTV News: On the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush, the national railway is expected to send 10.3 million passengers. The railway department will increase its capacity deployment, while strengthening safety guarantees to better serve passengers' travel.
From 00:00 on January 14, the railway department will implement the Spring Festival train operation map based on the first quarter train operation map, and add temporary passenger trains on popular routes and sections with concentrated passenger flow.
During the Spring Festival travel rush, the Beijing Railway Bureau of the China Railway will arrange a total of 220 pairs of peak lines for passengers and direct EMUs. The Xi'an Bureau of the National Railway has added 170.5 pairs of passenger trains during the Spring Festival travel rush, and the total number of passenger trains planned to be launched has reached 561 pairs, setting a record high. The Jinan Bureau of China Railway will adjust the train number in real time based on passenger flow, online ticket booking and pre-sale tickets. The maintenance system will mobilize backup capacity and increase personnel reasonably to shorten the departure interval to ensure sufficient transportation capacity.
According to the relevant person in charge of the China Railway Group, a number of new lines such as the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-speed Railway, Jidayuan High-speed Railway, and the Nanyu section of the Nanzhu High-speed Railway were put into use last year, which effectively expanded the capacity of this year's Spring Festival travel rush.
In order to ensure the convenient travel of key passengers, the railway department has also set up green channels, maternal and infant waiting rooms and station medical points at major passenger stations, and open green channels for key passengers with the elderly, children, sick, disabled and pregnant women and urgent passengers near 15 minutes before driving. On the morning of January 14, Shaanxi Xianyang Railway Station officially launched a 24-hour union station, providing passengers with medical kits, water dispensers, mobile power supplies and other items to facilitate passengers' travel.
