After the earthquake, the Ministry of Water Resources quickly launched the water conservancy earthquake relief dispatching and command mechanism, immediately consulted and analyzed, and informed the Sichuan Provincial Water Resources Department of Water Resources through the national "One Map of Water Conservancy" to report the distribution of water conservancy projects such as reservoirs near the epicenter. The Sichuan Provincial Water Resources Department immediately organized the water conservancy departments of Luzhou and Yibin to investigate possible affected water conservancy projects. As of 22:00 on the 24th, a total of 276 reservoirs, 41 embankments, 159 water supply projects, 52 kilometers of channels, 186 small hydropower stations, 55 water conservancy projects under construction, and 675 mountain torrent hazardous areas have been investigated.
