Guizhou Caohai National Nature Reserve is one of the main wintering places for black-necked cranes. Recently, black-necked cranes in the reserve have begun to move north in groups. According to monitoring data, this year, they moved north slightly later than last year.
The black-necked crane is a national first-class protected animal and is a unique plateau crane in my country. In recent years, the local area has continued to promote wetland restoration, water pollution control and habitat protection projects, and ensure the safety of migratory birds through artificial feeding and remote monitoring. According to reports, the number of black-necked cranes who came here to winter last year exceeded 2,829, and the total number of various types of migratory birds exceeded 100,000, setting a record high.
