Gao Xinqiang, deputy director of the Medical Emergency Department of the National Health Commission, said that monitoring shows that it has been in a relatively high incidence of influenza recently, but it has not exceeded the level of the previous epidemic season. The number of fever clinics and emergency patients nationwide showed a certain upward trend, generally lower than the same period last year, and there was no obvious shortage of medical resources.

Chinese disease control expert: No new infectious diseases have appeared at present

Wang Liping, a researcher at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that there will still be an alternating or superimposed epidemic situation of multiple respiratory infectious diseases, but they are all known pathogens and no new infectious diseases have appeared. The overall epidemic intensity and medical pressure will not be higher than the epidemic season of the previous year.

Wang Liping introduced that influenza is the main disease currently causing patients with acute respiratory infections to seek medical treatment. At present, the upward trend of influenza virus positivity has slowed down. As primary and secondary schools in various places have successively started holidays, it is expected that the level of influenza activity may gradually decline in mid-to-late this month.

Wang Liping, a researcher at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the results of influenza surveillance in my country show that the advantageous strain of the current influenza epidemic is the type A H1N1 subtype. The National Influenza Center of China conducted antigenic analysis on the recently isolated influenza A H1N1 virus, which indicated that it matched well with the influenza vaccine strain and was effective in vaccination; drug resistance analysis suggested that the currently prevalent influenza virus is sensitive to antiviral drugs and drug treatment is effective. Wang Liping suggested that people who have not received the flu vaccine can still be vaccinated.
