CCTV News: According to the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission, the Yunnan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision recently filed a case for the serious violations of discipline and law by Wang Xiliang, former second-level researcher of the Kunming Municipal Government Advisory Office (formerly deputy secretary and mayor of Kunming Municipal Party Committee).

After investigation, Wang Xiliang, as a party member leading cadre, lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original mission, had no choice but to be disciplined, and his selfish desires were inflated. He still did not repent after being punished for two violations of discipline, and confronted the organizational review; ignored the spirit of the Central Eight Regulations, accepted gifts and cash in violation of regulations, and accepted banquets and accommodation arrangements in violation of regulations; handed over the fees that should be paid by him to others; lost management and education for his family, and his family style and education were corrupt; he used his position to seek benefits for others in project contracting, business operations, etc., and illegally accepted huge amounts of property.

Wang Xiliang seriously violated the Party’s political discipline, the spirit of the Central Eight Regulations, the discipline of integrity, and the discipline of life, constituted serious violations of duty, and was suspected of accepting bribes. He did not restrain himself or stop after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which was of serious nature and had a bad impact, and should be dealt with seriously. In accordance with the "Regulations on Disciplinary Punishment of the Communist Party of China", "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China", "Administrative Punishment Law of the People's Republic of China" and other relevant provisions, after research by the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, it was decided to expel Wang Xiliang from the party; cancel the benefits he enjoyed in accordance with the regulations; confiscate his illegal gains; transfer his suspected criminal issues to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in accordance with the law, and transfer the property involved together.
