On February 11, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun presided over a regular press conference. A reporter asked questions about the new round of nationally dependent contribution goals to the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
In this regard, Guo Jiakun said that China has always been a practical worker and activist in responding to climate change. We will unswervingly fulfill our promised "dual carbon" goals in accordance with our own path, method and pace. At present, China is studying and formulating a new round of nationally dependent contributions in accordance with the Paris Agreement and the requirements of the first global inventory. It will, in a positive and responsible attitude, based on its own national conditions, capabilities and development stage, promptly report to the secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change this year.
