The Shengli Jiyang Shale Oil Demonstration Zone is mainly located in Shandong Province, with a distribution area of ​​7,300 square kilometers. It has made a breakthrough in exploration in 2021. It is my country's first national demonstration zone for shale oil in continental fault basin. The latest data shows that the shale oil production here exceeded 500,000 tons in 2024, and the cumulative production has exceeded 1 million tons so far. According to estimates, Shengli Jiyang's shale oil resources reach 10.5 billion tons, with broad development prospects.

Shale oil refers to oil resources stored in shale and is an emerging oil and gas resource. my country's shale oil resource exploration potential has huge potential, and it has formed a production increase pattern of three shale oil demonstration zones in Xinjiang, Jimusar, Daqing Gulong and Shengli Jiyang, and a main production zone in Changqing Qingcheng. In 2024, my country's shale oil production reached 6 million tons, an increase of more than 30% year-on-year.
